Greens have been campaigning for the council to do more to coordinate Warm Spaces in Reading to help those struggling to heat their homes. Greens councillors and campaigners have been petitioning and asking questions on this issue.
The council now have a list up on their website. https://www.reading.gov.uk/housing/money-matters/warm-spaces-in-reading/
Green campaigner Sarah Magon says, “A warm space is a low-cost or free place for you keep warm and save on energy costs at home. St John’s Café is one of the warm spaces in East Reading. It is next door to the nursery entrance at St John’s School.
“Come and enjoy company there or just quietly do your own thing with drinks and wi-fi on hand. Perhaps too you might give your own ideas and help to grow this Cafe project further. You’ll be very welcome.”
