The local issue I'm most concerned about is the new road (the 'MRT' scheme) that the council are planning, which, if it goes ahead, will destroy what is currently a peaceful and semi-wild stretch of riverside. Unless you're happy to see this happen, please put in an objection to this terrible scheme here. A new road is completely unnecessary and will do nothing to relieve Reading's traffic problems, which would be better alleviated by introducing congestion charging.

‌I joined the Green Party in 2014 after many years of voting for them. I joined because my views and values are broadly in line with those of the party, and I feel very strongly about those values: from protection of the natural environment, to the importance of animal rights, to working towards a more egalitarian and liberated society.
