ReadiFood has seen demand for food parcels rise especially during the lockdown. As of August 2020, they have given away 6,800 parcels. COVID-19 has made it much more difficult for many residents to access food. The food aid sector is there to help. To donate or access emergency food visit/call:

ReadiFood — www.readifood.org.uk (please check drop off times carefully to protect staff)

Whitley CDA — www.whitley-cda.org (food parcels and a café)

Food Share — 07765 600 372 (cutting waste by giving away fresh supermarket food; side of Wycliffe Church.: Tues, Thurs, Sat & Sun at 8pm.)

Cllr Brenda McGonigle said: “These groups are both doing a great job. Greens will continue to support them and work for a fairer more sustainable society."
