Arthur Hill saga continues

It is almost four years since Arthur Hill pool was wrongly closed by Labour councillors, leaving east Reading without a public pool. A planning application has gone in from the Labour run council to turn the swimming pool into housing.

Cllr Jamie Whitham said, “Council housing is better than the original luxury flats plan, but there are many council sites suitable for housing and only one pool. It is not too late to reopen Arthur Hill pool rather than pie in the sky plans for a new one at Palmer Park. Contact us with your thoughts on the application at 07766 918058 or jamie@readinggreenparty.org.uk.”

The planning application can be found here.
