Brenda McGonigle, Rob White and Josh Williams have been campaigning to reopen Arthur Hill Pool.

Greens support re-opening the much-loved Arthur Hill Swimming Pool and creating key worker housing on the council's Cumberland Road site. Cllr Brenda McGonigle supported local residents gathering almost 2,000 signatures on a petition calling on the Council to consider reopening Arthur Hill Swimming Pool. This followed Labour's attempted sale of the sitefor more flats falling through.

Brenda said, “We think the pool should be reopened for the community as there is no public pool in East Reading and hasn’t been for nearly three years.

“Unfortunately, at a recent council meeting, the council choose to turn this site into housing. We support key worker housing, but this could be built on the council Cumberland Road site. We will keep up the pressure to get a public swimming pool in east Reading.”
