Louise Keane, Green Party candidate for Katesgrove Ward finished in an amazing 2nd place at the recent local elections beating the Tories and Lib Dems. Louise got an amazing 326 votes at the recent council elections.
Louise said: “Thank you to everyone in Katesgrove who voted Green, it’s fantastic to know so many people care, and want to make a difference. Together, we’re working against Tory and Labour cuts to our libraries, swimming pools and children’s centres. We are also working hard to protect our green spaces.”
In Katesgrove, Green party activities have included working for better children's provision following Labour's closure of Katesgrove Children's Centre and campaigning against the council selling off the Central Club youth centre and mural for flats. Furthermore, Greens have been organising litter picks across east Reading.
Louise said: “We have been borrowing litter pickers, gloves and vests, and clearing a good area such as Whitley Street. Do you want to organise a litter pick in your road, or a local area?”
