Green party election wins celebration in Reading

3 May 2019

Thanks everyone for your support and hard work for the council elections. Josh Williams was re-elected in Park Ward (East Reading) with an increased majority on last year. And Jamie Whitham has been successfully elected as our first ever Green Party councillor in Redlands Ward (near Reading University).

This means we have more Green councillors on Reading Council than ever before. We will be able to make more of a difference standing up for public services and the environment. And we will be able to have a greater impact on the ground in these wards.

We also contested every other council election vacancy in Reading (coming 2nd in Abbey, Battle and Katesgrove) and an increased number in Wokingham. The Green Party is definitely on the move!

We are having an election celebration drink at the Hope & Bear (153 London Rd, Reading RG1 5DE (was the Abbot Cook)) from 7:30 PM tomorrow (Saturday May 4, 2019). If you can make it, it would be great to see you?

Thanks again for your support and have a good restful weekend.

Best wishes
Rob and the Green Team
